I was planning a general Happy New Year blog post this morning. Sadly, the Thai new year was a bit sombre as explosions ripped through several Bangkok markets and gathering areas - most of which we have personally been to in the past. It makes the bombings feel very close to home.

As you probably have figured out by now, Thailand is under martial law and, as such, the military leaders have banned public gatherings, invalidated the constitution (which, hey, isn’t that bad - as it was only 9 years old anyways), and banned opinion pieces from being broadcast on TV news or in the papers.
